Jungle Duel is a browser card game at jungleduel.com. This page explains what information the game uses and why. You can play as a guest without creating an account.

Playing as a guest

Guest progress (settings, match record, Jungle Trail progress, daily challenge results, streaks, tips you've seen and journal) is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Jungle Duel. We do not receive your Google password and we do not request access to your contacts, files or any other Google data. We use this information to:

• create your player account and keep you signed in;
• save and sync your game progress (Jungle Trail levels, Trail Marks, Explorer level, achievements and cosmetic rewards) across your devices;
• show a display name to opponents in online matches, when online play is available;
• let friends find each other: we store a one-way hash of your email address so a friend who already knows your email can find your account; your email itself is not shown to other players;
• send game emails you trigger, such as a friend challenge or "your turn" notice, when online play is available.

Online matches

Online and friend duels are not available yet. When they are, we will store the match state, moves and invitations needed to play and to show results to both players.

Service providers

Accounts and game data are stored with Supabase (database and authentication). The website is hosted by Netlify. Game emails are delivered by Resend. Usage analytics are processed by Google Analytics. These providers process data only to run and improve the service.

Usage analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use Jungle Duel, for example which pages are visited, which button started a game, and whether practice and matches are finished. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device information, and the page you visited. We turn off Google signals and ad personalization, and we do not send your name, email or account ID to Google Analytics. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies for jungleduel.com.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your information.
• We don't show ads, and we don't use analytics data for advertising.
• We don't use your Google data for anything other than running the game as described above.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account data while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated game data, email erik@palmtreeproperties.com from the address you sign in with, and we will delete it within 30 days. You can also remove Jungle Duel's access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

Children

Jungle Duel is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
